Bartholomew David "Bart" Wilson Jr., 66, of Warren passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, Monday morning, July 26, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born March 21, 1944 in Connellsville, PA, Bart was the son of the late Bartholomew David Wilson, Sr. and Dorothy (Petko) Wilson of Cortland.

Bart was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School where he was an accomplished football star and team quarterback. He joined the United Stated Marine Corps in 1962 and received an honorable discharge in 1966. Bart retired in 2009 from the City of Warren where he worked in the city's water filtration plant. He spent many years as a track and field official at the Jr. high and high school levels. Bart was an avid football fan and enjoyed watching his nephews play. He was proud to have never missed a single one of their games. Bart liked to garden, he loved his beagle named "Buddy", and most of all he enjoyed traveling to see his children and grandchildren.

Bart will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Judith (Bradley) Wilson of Warren, whom he married May 9, 1978 and with whom he shared 32 years of marriage, his mother, Dorothy Wilson of Cortland, six children, John Campany of West Palm, FL, Jamie (Yana) Campany of Delray, FL, Terri (Louis) Loving of Alburn, AL, Chris Messersmith of Warren, Traci Wilson of Alburn, AL, and Stephani (Gary) Doran of Huntersville, AL, six grandchildren, Brianna "Breezy", Bradley, Justin, David, Bridgette, and Jonathan, and his siblings, Elaine (Dick) Thomas and Harry Wilson both of Warren, Johnny (Jackie) Wilson of Cortland, and Diane (Mike) Danakaise of Howland. He was preceded in death by his father, Bartholomew D. Wilson Sr.

Pastor Steven Sespico will conduct a funeral service on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 7PM at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel where family and friends may visit from 5 until 7PM. According to Bart's wishes, cremation will take place concluding the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, material contributions may be made in Bart's memory to either Celtic Hospice at 8747 Squires Lane NE Warren, OH 44484 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
