Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday at the Canfield United Methodist Church for Joyce Mae Hickman, 75, formerly of Canfield, who died Tuesday, March 2 at Martin Memorial Hospital North due to complications following surgery.
She was born June 18, 1934 in Mansfield, OH a daughter of the late Elwood and Edith (Bandy) Newland. She and her husband have resided in Palm City, FL since 1992.
She was a 1952 graduate of Kersley High School in Flint, MI, and she also attended Youngstown State University.
She had worked as a Real Estate Agent for 30 years for Century 21, among other companies.
She was a member of the National Association of Realtors and she enjoyed boating, camping, and working on her computer.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Rudy J. Hickman, whom she married March 19, 1955. She also leaves behind three children; Jeffery (Leslie) Hickman of Austintown, Julie (Douglas) Edwards of Phoenix, AZ, and Jerry (Sandy) Hickman of Canfield; three grandchildren; Chad Hickman, Katie Hickman, and Michael Edwards; a brother, Louis Newland of Flint, MI; and two sisters; Louise Hosler of Carlsbad, CA, and Alice Alexander of San Francisco.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 6-8pm Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel and from 10-11am Friday at the church.
