A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 12 PM Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Austintown, preceded by closing prayers at 11:20 AM at Lane Funeral Home Austintown, for Ronald J. Puntel who passed away Saturday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
Ron was born May 21, 1944 in Cleveland a son of the late Joseph and Mary “Betty” (Kearney) Puntel.
He retired in 1999 from General Motors, Lordstown, was an avid golfer, enjoyed yard work, especially working in his garden and he liked to cook.
Ron is survived by his wife the former Anna Yafanaro whom he married July 12, 1968; three children: Gina (Kevin Groff) Repaski of Columbiana, Annette (Jerry Simpson) Puntel of Youngstown and Nino Puntel at home; one sister: Cathy Puntel of Nashville, TN; seven brothers: Gene (Elizabeth) of Austintown, Ricky (Fern) of Medina, Joseph (Brenda) of Austintown, Randy (Marilou) of Cleveland, Bobby (Jackie) of Cleveland, Tony (Gail) of McDonald, and Michael (Karla Cunningham) of Youngstown; three grandchildren: Michael (Samantha), Kara, and J.J.; and one great grandson,: Jaden.
