Mr. Adam Holzschuh, 90, formerly of Austintown, died Monday, January 11 in Tucson.
He was born December 6, 1919 in Bukin, Yugoslavia, a son of Franz and Barbara (Helmlinger) Holzschuh, and he came to the Youngstown area from Germany in 1949. He married the former Catherine M. Kunder February 15, 1939 and she preceded him in death December 31, 2008.
He worked as a crane operator for Republic Steel for 33 years before retiring in 1981.
He was of the Roman Catholic faith and was a former member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown.
He was a member of the Apollo Maennerchor and the German Hungarian Maennerchor.
He is survived by two children; Frank P. (Susan) Holzschuh of Greeneville, TN; and Rose (Dave) Jirschele of Tucson.
He also leaves behind two grandchildren; Paul (Angel) Holzschuh of California, and Kristin Holzschuh of Virginia; two step-grandchildren; Kelly Snodgrass and Chad Thomas, both of Tennessee; six great-step grandchildren; a brother, Franz Holzschuh and a sister, Eva Rapp, both in Germany
Besides his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather Josef Mutavschitsch, a daughter Theresa Holzschuh, and two brothers; Josef Holzschuh and Andreas Mutavschitsch.
The family will greet friends from 1-3pm on Saturday, February 27 at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor�s choice.
